Cyclone uses nylon core cable from 5/8'' to 7/8'' in diameter. Each cable consists of 6 galvanized steel strands simultaneously wound with a U.V stabilized polyamide around the nylon core. The cables mechanical resistance varies between 9000 and 21000 lbs depending on cable diameter while still remaining flexible, hence limiting the potential for fall injuries. Chains used by Cyclone have small links specially designed to avoid small fingers from getting caught while providing adequate mechanical resistance for safe play.
